Sign #1: You want to transform your patient base

Plenty of third party service providers such as cleaning crews, repairmen, and delivery drivers, have access to your medical office. Whether it’s to steam clean your carpeting, repair that broken overhead lighting system or drop off a package, your practice is often visited by people other than your patients and employees. How careful are you to ensure your patient data and financial information is not in plain sight? More importantly, do you know who is accessing your office when you are not around, particularly after hours?

It’s one thing to see flickering lights and cold, damp and dark rooms in a horror movie this time of year. It’s quite another to be experiencing these phenomena in your medical office on a daily basis. Medical facilities should be welcoming and comfortable, both for patients and for staff that have to work there every day. But sometimes things go wrong, landlords aren’t as quick to make repairs as they should, and you’re left dealing with design/facilities horror stories.

When it comes to patient experience, there’s a wide gulf between great and horrible. Undoubtedly, you want your patients to feel their experience with your practice is near the “great” end of the spectrum. And, while it’s impossible to do everything right and to please everyone, there are some things that give your practice a black eye, indelibly marking it as a loser. Here, MOT highlights the things that put your practice out of contention.

When it comes to patient experience, there’s a wide gulf between great and horrible. On one end, patients are delighted with their healthcare providers, relish their fabulous experience and benefit from positive outcomes; on the other end, patients sue their providers for malpractice, tell everyone about their horrific experience, and in a worse-case scenario, may even suffer devastating outcomes.

Walls are one of the most customizable features of any space, and most medical offices have lots of them.
